______________________________________________
In
my late teens I took an interest to veterinary medicine as it
is a very challenging career that involves working with animals.
I attended Michigan State University after graduating from Grand
Ledge and was later accepted into MSU School of Veterinary Medicine.
After four years of medical
school I graduated with honors in 1995. My first jobs were at
larger veterinary hospitals. It was here that I learned this style
of practice
was not my niche.
In 2001 I purchased Northland Animal Hospital because
of its location
and size. It did not take long to know I had found a new home.
Working here has allowed me to serve those in the Rockford, Cedar
Springs,
and surrounding areas as a family doctor for your four legged
companions. In this environment I am able to concentrate on making
your companion pets health my responsibility. The clinic’s
focus of personalized care
rather than high volume has allowed me to practice the kind of
family medicine I enjoy. The longer appointment times allow me
to be thorough and develop a relationship with the pet and family.
It is my personal
goal to make sure each client feels that they and their companion
pet have been treated with care and respect.
Outside of my clinic life I live with my wife of 15 years, Dana, and our two human children and three companion pets. The Golden Retriever is my 2001 rescue pet Murphy. Wally is the orange tiger cat who lives the life of a spoiled indoor cat who was a barn cat refugee. The gray kitten pictured is Mandy. She's another rescue from the hospital. It seems we vets don't need to look for pets, they just come to us! The family also includes Major, a very large and therefore messy Military Macaw.
