I joined the Northland Family in May of 2006. It is what I would call a family. The staff, clients and even wagging tails and kisses from the patients all welcomed me with smiles and open arms. I truly enjoy what I do for my life. I love the animals and to help them allows me to go home at night feeling good about my life goals. My goal in life is to work with animals. I am currently attending Baker College of Muskegon in pursuit of becoming a Licensed Veterinarian Technician.
I have always been what you might call an animal lover. I grew up with dogs and hamsters and had a love for horses. I attended lessons for many years specializing in dressage and jumping. I later worked at Owasippe Scout Reservation in Michigan where I took care of twenty six horses. At the camp my work with the horses included feeding them to medical care needs. While I was there I also taught the Boy Scouts about horses. I instructed them on how to care, ride, and scoop poop for their Horsemanship Merit badge. My experience in clinical veterinary work started in Illinois working for a daytime practice. I hated moving away from Chicago as my family is there and I love my job, but I made my move from Chicago to Rockford for my now husband. I knew once I moved I wanted to get back into animal care and now I have set my career path for a profession that I love. I truly love what I do.
If I am not at work cleaning up poop, I am at home cleaning up poop. I have two cats and a dog. My animals take up much of my time. They are my kids. My Mooshie cat is the princess, Danni Bananie is my special one, and my Layla dog is the baby who thinks my main job on life is to entertain her. Aside from work and the animals the rest of my time is spent with my husband. We hang out with friends go on our boat, basically just be together.
