Northland Animal Hospital has an emphasis on family medicine. This does not stop at the medical needs of your pet but involves the healthy development of your petís behaviors. Behavioral problems are one of
most reported reasons for pet surrenders at our shelters. This is why we strive to develop a healthy relationship between your family
and companion pet.

Veterinary medicine is unique in that we frequently will provide all of your pets needs from adolescence on through to the elder years. Establishing positive reinforcement for tasks and behaviors is the essential building block to raising a companion animal. We will we will provide behavior and health tips that can help develop a great relationship for the next eight to twenty-five years.

These special family members age an average of seven years to one human year. Adolescences to the geriatic years occurs very quickly. We focus on these areas as part of a routine wellness plan to make sure that each life transition is smooth.

We offer consultations on behavior problems such as house soiling, barking and separation anxiety. Treatment plans usually involve behavioral modification and may involve drug treatment as well. Behavioral problems are easiest to treat early in their course before patterns are developed.
